This is a design from the Hoopsisters website (check out their site here http://www.hoopsisters.com). It's a Quilt in the Hoop project.
This is the first time I've tried anything like this and as with everything it is a learning curve (that means I made a boo-boo). You quilt and embroider the block in one go and then sew them together with sashing.
This is the front of the block
This is the back of the block
and these are the fabrics that I am using
So far I have made three 6 inch blocks. One more in the dark top/light bottom and then four with the light top/dark bottom to do. I'll have to change my light fabric on the next four as I cut them too small. I was so eager to get started that I cut them for a 5 inch finish square instead of 6 (what's the quilters rule again, MEASURE TWICE, CUT ONCE). Oh well, I'll know for the next time.
Hello Linda,
ReplyDeleteThat looks like alot of fun! I know just what you mean, as the other day I was working on a mariner's compass and cut some of the pieces too short. Darn it. I had to do some reverse stitching as I didn't notice until I had sewn one together.
